Doug Berg is the face and operations owner-manager that spends most of his days at Oflow (Overflow-Brews & Bakes). He prefers to call it the Oflow because it's shorter, especially when interviewing customers who pay it forward in our community. The Daily News Journal wrote an article when we first opened. For those who don’t know, Doug gave up a job that paid really well to start this little coffee and bakery shop to provide a place for everyone to feel accepted through kindness and compassion. Despite our differences, we believe in God’s word to Love Thy Neighbor and Jesus' love for all. We hope that each person can feel that walking into our shop.
Sally, Doug’s wife, is an immigrant from Taiwan but has been in the US since she was four years old; this is her home. She prefers to be behind the scenes running the business and will be at the shop helping during special events.
Locally own, veteran own, supporting local community and businesses
Coffee with a Purpose.
We are honored to partner with Narrow Gate Coffee in Franklin to support their mission to train and equip young men, some recovering from addiction, with sustainable business skills, such as learning to roast coffee. Every coffee you purchase helps support their mission.
We partner with local community non-profit and charity organizations to raise awareness and support their campaigns such as Breast Cancer Awareness and Operation Coat Boro.
We support other small businesses, such as Music City Tea, supplying our freshly brewed tea with their loose-leaf tea selection. Coffee and Bakery Bubble Tea Shop
Please read up on how we got started, posted on Oct 4, 2022, by the Daily News Journal. We opened on Sept 1, 2022, and we are still learning the business and what our customers want. We have invested in our little shop, including plumbing for our premium coffee and teas, electrical upgrades, and adding more electrical outlets for our customers to plug in their electrical devices and use our free WIFI while enjoying our food and drinks. The electrical upgrades also allow us to bring in our new oven in January to bake more items simultaneously, allowing us to host our first event on Feb 11, 2023, a fun, family-friendly Valentine's Cookie Decorating.
